Hanover security guard charged with robbery
A 57-year-old security guard has been charged with robbery with aggravation following an incident in Lucea, Hanover, on Tuesday.
The police say Fitzroy Douglas, otherwise called ‘Adrian’, of Malcolm Heights in the parish, allegedly attacked a man riding his bicycle along Willie Dellisser Boulevard about midday.
According to reports from the Lucea Police, the man felt a sharp blow to the back of his neck and, upon turning, saw Douglas, who pushed him off the bicycle.
Douglas then allegedly displayed a knife tucked in his waistband before grabbing the man’s pants and removing a cellphone from his pocket. He fled the scene on foot.
Douglas was arrested the following day, August 6, after the complainant pointed him out to police.
Officers recovered the stolen item — a blue ZTE Blade A55 smartphone.
