Employees of the National Housing Trust (NHT) gather at Emancipation Park in New Kingston amid a reported security threat at the agency’s Park Avenue offices Friday morning.

The authorities are now responding to a security threat that several government agencies could be attacked, law enforcement sources have revealed.

The threat was communicated via an email message to the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA), sources said.

The New Kingston office of the National Housing Trust was also evacuated on Friday because of a security threat.

The email reportedly warned that other agencies will be targeted, but did not single out any specific entity and did not indicate a motive, according to one law enforcement source.

The threat comes the same day members of the security forces and election day workers cast ballots ahead of next Wednesday’s General Election.

Police vehicles were seen parked outside PICA’s offices in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, early Friday.

More details shortly.
