The United Independent Congress (UIC) candidate contesting the general election in the Eastern Hanover constituency does not have a vote.

It has come to light that 22 year old businessman, Jordan Cunningham, who was nominated to represent the UIC in Eastern Hanover, is not on the current voters' list, and so cannot vote in this election.

Cunningham got registered recently and so his name did not make it on to the May voters' list.

However, he does not see this as a problem as he claims he can still be a good representative if elected.

He told The Gleaner that his entry into representational politics is a “leap of faith” taken by him, adding that, if elected, his focus will be on economic empowerment of the youth of the constituency.

Cunningham is running against Jamaica Labour Party representative, Dave Brown, who is seeking a third straight term in office; People’s National Party representative, Andrea Purkiss; and Jamaica Progressive Party representative Craig Eubanks.
