The Small Business Association of Jamaica (SBAJ) says it stands ready to work with the Government to ensure that micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) receive the support they need to contribute meaningfully to Jamaica’s economic development.

The SBAJ says it wants to see the implementation of policies that support growth, sustainability, and innovation within the sector.

It was reacting to Wednesday's general election, which saw the Dr Andrew Holness-led Jamaica Labour Party winning a third term in government.

The association argues that the win underscores the confidence the Jamaican people have in his leadership and vision for the nation's future.

It says the association acknowledges the achievements seen under Holness' leadership and anticipates continued progress in the coming term.

“The SBAJ looks forward to deepening our collaboration with the Government to ensure that micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises receive the support they need to contribute meaningfully to Jamaica’s economic development. Together, we can empower entrepreneurs and strengthen our nation’s prosperity.”

The SBAJ says it remains committed to working with the Government to create an enabling environment for MSMEs.

“As Jamaica embarks on this new chapter, the SBAJ reaffirms its dedication to fostering a robust and resilient small business community, contributing to the realization of the nation’s vision of shared prosperity.”
