Man fatally shot by police in St Catherine

A man who the police say was a suspect in a murder case was this morning fatally shot by cops in St Catherine.
Dead is Danville Powell, otherwise called 'Alex' and 'Cool Face', of Harewood district in Riversdale.
Reports are that about 6:40, the police, armed with a search warrant, went on an intelligence-driven operation in search of Powell.
Investigators said he was a suspect in the September 28 murder of fruit vendor Wayne Mondle o/c Hanson, who was gunned down inside his home in Harewood district in Riversdale
According to the police, when cops entered the premises, Powell attempted to disarm a member of the police party.
The other cops reportedly took evasive action, during which Powell was shot.
He was taken to the Linstead Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Independent Commission of Investigations is probing the matter.
