May Pen, St Ann’s Bay and Santa Cruz tax offices reopen
The Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is reporting that its May Pen, St Ann’s Bay, and Santa Cruz tax offices have now joined other locations that have been reopened following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
TAJ says operations began following comprehensive assessments, minor repairs, clean-up operations, and access to power and ICT connectivity.
As of Monday, November 10, TAJ has resumed operations at 18 of its 30 tax offices.
Additionally, several TAJ business offices have also resumed operations, including its Customer Care Centre that may be reached at 888-Tax-Help (888-829-4357) and those offices located at Oxford Road, Kingston Mall, Regal Plaza, PCJ Building, Ocean Boulevard, Stores Newport West, Air Jamaica Building and TAJ’s corporate office at 116 East Street, Kingston 4.
The tax authority says as power, water, and internet connectivity continue to be restored across the island, additional offices are expected to reopen in the coming weeks.
However, it notes that based on preliminary damage assessments, some offices in the worst-affected areas may remain closed for a longer period.
Updates will be provided to the public as they become available.
