Multiple criminal charges have been laid against 21-year-old apprentice jockey, Delroy Walker, following an alleged robbery on Bridgeport Road, Portmore, St Catherine, on October 15.

Walker, otherwise called, 'Jockey', of Carol crescent, Newlands, in Portmore, is charged with robbery with aggravation, possession of prohibited weapon, using a prohibited weapon to commit a scheduled offence and assault at common law.

The Portmore police say about 5:40 a.m., Walker approached a teenager at a bus stop and brandished a firearm.

He reportedly pointed the weapon at her and robbed her of her cellular phone, several other personal items and $32,000 before escaping on foot in the area.

After the ordeal, the teen made a report to the police.

The police say following an investigation into the matter, Walker was taken into custody, where he was pointed out in an identification parade and subsequently charged.

A court date is being finalised for him.

Earlier this month, the police also charged the apprentice jockey with using a prohibited weapon to commit a scheduled offence, conspiracy, robbery with aggravation, and possession of a prohibited weapon in connection with the armed robbery of a business establishment in Newlands, Portmore, last month.
