Uzi sub-machine gun seized in St Mary

The Annotto Bay police in St Mary seized a sub-machine gun on Thursday during an operation in the Port-Auto Lane area.
According to a police report, at approximately 4:25 p.m., cops, and acting on intelligence, proceeded to a premises located near the Annotto Bay coastline.
Upon the team’s arrival, two men were observed, and upon seeing the police, they reportedly fled.
“A thorough search of the premises was conducted, during which officers discovered an Uzi sub-machine gun with a magazine affixed, along with five 9mm cartridges,” said Superintendent Anthony Wallace, Commanding Officer for the St Mary Police Division.
“It was buried in a black cloth shopping bag. Investigations are ongoing as we seek to identify and apprehend the individuals involved. We are urging anyone with information that can assist us in this investigation to contact the Annotto Bay Police Station at 876-996-2244 or Crime Stop at 311,” he added.
