Jamaica Broilers Group (JBG) recently carried out its annual Christmas outreach in the communities of Spring Village and McCook’s Pen, St Catherine, providing meaningful support and seasonal encouragement to more than 300 elderly and vulnerable residents.

JBG volunteers, joined by community representatives, went door-to-door delivering care packages filled with essential food items, including the A-Grade Whole Chicken, courtesy of Best Dressed Chicken – an important staple for many families’ Christmas meals.

The initiative reflects JBG’s long-standing commitment to supporting communities closest to its operations, particularly the most vulnerable, during the holiday season. For many recipients, the packages offered relief and the reassurance that they are not forgotten. This support comes at a time when financial pressures are high, and most corporate relief efforts are focused on the Western parishes severely affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Speaking on the initiative, Michelle Lawe, group human resources manager at Jamaica Broilers Group, highlighted the heart behind the outreach.

“At Christmas, we are reminded of the importance of being there for one another. Our annual outreach is about more than giving. It’s about showing up for the elderly and vulnerable in our communities and bringing a sense of hope through practical support. We believe in the strength of community and the value of supporting our senior citizens, knowing that simple acts of care can brighten someone’s day and remind them that they are seen, valued, and remembered.”

This Christmas season, the smiles, gratitude, and moments shared across the communities are a powerful reminder that hope is strongest when shared.
