Man charged for allegedly threatening uncle while at police station granted $100,000 bail
A St Catherine man charged for allegedly threatening his uncle’s life while they were at a police station in Portmore has been granted bail in the sum of $100,000 with one surety.
The accused, Christopher Henry, expressed remorse for his actions when he appeared in court today.
The complainant told the court that he is afraid of his nephew and wants him kept away from the premises.
The matter has been recommended for mediation.
Parish Court Judge Courtney Maxwell told Henry that the matter is serious, noting that the alleged threats were made while the men were at a police station.
Allegations are that on December 22, 2025, both men were at the police station when Henry became angry and made threatening remarks toward the complainant.
“I must buy a machete, sharpen it, and chop yuh up,” the court was told the accused allegedly said.
Police reportedly warned Henry that he was making a serious threat and instructed him to desist, but he allegedly disobeyed and repeated the threats.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with making a threat.
The matter is to be mentioned again on February 28.
