At 100 years old, Isaiah Freckleton still marvels at the passage of time. Lying in his bed one night, alone with his thoughts, the centenarian found himself pondering. “I began to count from one to a hundred,” he said. “And I lay down, and I started to think ... I began to count from one to two, to 50. But I said, what is this? This is funny. The other day, I was just eight years old.” Freckleton was born on September 26, 1925, a fact he proudly proves with his original birth certificate, issued at a time when births were registered at the post office.
