A 30-year-old man charged with unauthorised possession of ammunition was freed in the St Catherine Parish Court on Friday after the prosecution conceded it could not prove he had knowledge of the cartridges.

Greg Wilson had been answering to the charge.

The hearing was held in private.

Defence attorney Rodain Richardson was seen preparing to make a bail application. Shortly after, Wilson was seen walking from the holding area, appearing overjoyed.

"I feel really good about the outcome,as I know nothing about it,Mi thank mi lawyer,as him work hard," Wilson said.

It was alleged that on December 29, 2025, police intercepted a Toyota Axio motor car in Spanish Town that was being driven by Wilson.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and, in the trunk, a container with sand was reportedly found. The sand was emptied and five 9mm cartridges were allegedly discovered.

Wilson was taken into custody and subsequently charged with unauthorised possession of ammunition.
