Peace and Love in Society (PALS) has announces that Peace Day 2026 is to be observed tomorrow under the theme ‘Rebuild Jamaica Piece by Peace’. This year’s observance is focused on recovery, unity, and renewal in the wake of Hurricane Melissa.
The theme song for Peace Day 2026 is Rise Up by Jamaica United.
Throughout the day, activities are being planned for classrooms and assemblies, including:
• Post-Melissa kindness letters & story wall: Illustrated letters of support for students in hard-hit communities or in-school displays.
• Rebuilding the map of Jamaica: On a large map, students add rebuilding ideas and peace actions for hard-hit communities.
• Community mosaic walk: Individual ‘pieces’ of hope and helpful actions assembled into a large mural.
• Peace Pledge chain: One-line pledges linked into a visible schoolwide chain of commitments.
• Rise Up patchwork of promises: A visual patchwork of chorus lines, words, and student artwork celebrating renewal.
• Rise Up – Chorus action & anthem march: Simple choreography and a school march or assembly performance of the theme song.
PALS has invited schools to share their Peace Day plans and to send photos and videos of activities conducted under the theme ‘Rebuild Jamaica Piece by Peace’.
