A search is underway for a group of gunmen who robbed several Chinese nationals at premises in Whitehouse St Catherine on Saturday.
The robbers escaped with a shotgun, cash totalling US$1,700 and J$100,000 as well as several electronic devices, according to police sources.
It’s reported that about 11:45a.m. a security guard on duty at housing development for Chinese was pounced upon by four men, three of whom were armed with guns. The other robber reportedly had a machete.
They reportedly disarmed the security guard of a 12-guage shotgun before proceeding to a nearby dwelling house where the Chinese nationals were robbed at gunpoint.
The Linstead Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating the incident.
