JPS pole damaged by bush fire in Portmore

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) is reporting that a bush fire damaged a transmission pole in Portmore, St Catherine on Monday morning, resulting in power outages across several communities.
JPS said the incident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. and affected customers in Bridgeport, Westport, Bridgeview, Edgewater, Portmore Pines, Ascot, Phoenix Park, Caribbean Estate, Monza, Greater Portmore, Hellshire and surrounding areas.
The company said initial restoration work was completed, with power restored to all affected customers by 11:15 a.m.
However, it said full repair work remains under way to replace the damaged infrastructure.
