The police say an investigation has been launched into the violent altercation that occurred at the Zimi Seh Beach entertainment event held in St Ann on Sunday.

The event was held at Puerto Seco Beach in Discovery Bay.

Videos posted on social media platforms show a group of men violently attacking other patrons.

The videos have gone viral and have sparked outrage.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) issued a statement on Tuesday informing that the St Ann Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) is actively investigating the incident and appealed to persons to come forward and provide information that may assist with the probe.

The police believe that persons who were present and involved may possess information that is critical to advancing the investigation.

The JCF is appealing particularly to persons who may have witnessed the incidents or have video recordings, photographs, or other information that can assist investigators.

Persons providing information are encouraged to come forward as soon as possible and to contact the St Ann CIB at 876-972-2209.

Information may also be provided anonymously through Crime Stop at 311.

The police are urging all persons with relevant information to cooperate with the investigation and assist in clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
