Police hunt man after brother fatally stabbed in Portmore

The police are searching for a man who allegedly fatally stabbed his brother following an argument in their community of Beverly Flats in Newlands, Portmore, St Catherine, on Tuesday.

Dead is 30-year-old Shaquille Wilson.

The police say cops have been combing the often volatile Portmore community for him.

It is reported that the deceased man was stabbed all over his body, including his neck, during a dispute at their home in the community shortly after 7:18 a.m.

Police said initial reports are that the brothers' altercation took root hours earlier over a dispute involving clothing.

The argument subsequently subsided; however, the alleged suspect was not done.

According to the police, residents reported that he was overheard threatening to harm his brother.

Yesterday, they reeled in disbelief that the alleged suspect followed through, noting that the attack took place as the deceased brother slept.

“Is inna him sleep him attack him and start stab him,” said a resident.

“It look like him get up and a run up and down inna di place, as him a get them. A pure blood in there [house].”

Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene.

The police were called to the scene.

The injured man was pronounced dead at hospital.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist in locating the suspect to come forward.
