Jamaican duo Nickel Ashmeade and Julian Forte got caught in Justin Gatlin’s tailwind, in the Men's 200m to finish third and fifth, respectively, at the Prefontaine Classic at Hayward Field, University of Oregon, today.

Both were well off the lead in a race where the American practically lost the field, as he motored off the corner with a huge lead and sped to victory in a world leading 19.68 seconds, equalling his personal best.

Ashmeade came through for third in 20.18, finishing behind South Africa’s Anaso Jobodwana, 20.04.

“I’m not too pleased with the performance, but it’s still a work in progress, “ said Forte, who clocked 20.45.

American Isiah Young was fourth in 20.24.

The wind reading was 0.9 mps.
