Haile Selassie boot defending champions from Walker Cup
Haile Selassie ended St Catherine High School's reign as ISSA/Digicel Walker Cup Champions with a 4-1 win after the continuation of their quaterfinal game this afternoon at the Spanish Town Prison Oval.
Bad light had stopped play in the fixture yesterday evening with Haile Selassie leading 2-0. Today the game restarted from the 66th minute to decide the final semi-final spot.
Ellis Guscott gave St Catherine hope in the 69th minute but Jahwan Pawne of Haile Selassie who scored yesterday, completed his hattrick in the 84th and 88th minutes to put the game beyond doubt.
Yesterday Joshua Dewar had fired Haile Selassie into the lead in first-half stoppage time, while Payne doubled the tally in the 51st with a long-ranged rocket.
Haile Selassie will play Wolmer's Boys’ School in a rematch of their ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup quarterfinal game, while St George's will play Tivoli.
Both games will be played on November 29.
