Mount Pleasant lift first Premier League title
The Jamaica Premier League title will have a new home in St Ann as Mount Pleasant are the 2022/23 champions, defeating Cavalier 2-1 in the final tonight at Sabina Park.
Sue-Lae McCalla opened the scoring in the seventh minute for Mount Pleasant before Collin Anderson got the equaliser in the 83rd minute, the Cavalier man scoring his 20th goal of the season.
But McCalla would go on to get the winner with a minute remaining in regulation to restore and keep the lead to win Mount Pleasant’s first ever title.
Mount Pleasant are the 14th different team to win the Jamaica Premier League title and this is the first title in the managerial career of head coach, Theodore Whitmore.
