Jamaica's Tahlia Richardson teamed up with Samuel Ricketts to help seal Jamaica's CAC Games badminton bronze medal.

Jamaica’s medal tally at the Central American and Caribbean Games moved to five after the country’s badminton team mined bronze earlier today in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Team Jamaica registered a 3-1 victory over hosts El Salvador to help Jamaica notch their third bronze medal of the Games.

In the men’s singles, Jamaica’s Zane Reid suffered a straight-sets (15-21, 11-21) defeat to Uriel Canjura but Katherine Wynter got the team onto the scoresheet with a commanding 21-8, 21-17 victory over Daniela Hernandez.

Later, the pair of Samuel Ricketts and Zane Reid put the Jamaicans 2-1 up, following a closely fought two-set (22-20, 21-19) victory over El Salvador’s duo of Manuel Mejia and Javier Alas.

The bronze medal was completed through Jamaica’s standard bearers, Samuel Ricketts and Tahlia Richardson, in mixed doubles action. The duo masterminded a 2-1 victory over Fatima Centeno and Javier Alas, 21-6, 13-21, 21-13.

Jamaica's medal count now stands at two silver and three bronze.
