#BudaQuest |Fraser-Pryce injury not severe
Five-time world 100 metres champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce's injury sustained during the women’s 4x100m final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary yesterday is not severe.
Jamaica mined a silver medal in the final, clocking a season’s best 41.21 seconds but the quartet was not able to celebrate the achievement yesterday after going to the aid of Fraser-Pryce.
According to reports in the media, an examination at hospital showed the injury to be less severe than feared and the sprinter should recover without complications.
Fraser-Pryce was only able to start her season last month after an injury in May pushed it back.
Fraser-Pryce is in good spirits as has aleady begun treatment.
The 4x100 silver is the 16th World Championships medal for the legendary sprinter.
