One Umbrella Sports and Entertainment is organising a vibrant event for the Reggae Boyz to boost their home game atmosphere and spirit, featuring music, entertainment, and a party experience before, during, and after matches, starting with next Tuesday’s Concacaf World Cup qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago at the National Stadium.

Huntley Dixon, head of the Reggae Boyz supporters group, One Umbrella Sports and Entertainment, said the group will be embarking on some activities, especially for home games, to lift the atmosphere and spirit of the spectators and players for the final round of Concacaf World Cup qualifying.

According to Dixon, for away matches they will also be organising Jamaicans in the respective countries they will be playing against, to offer the team encouragement on their travels.

“We realise that a lot of the average persons in Jamaica are not familiar with the players, because some are England-based. So instead of just trying to sell football, we want to sell an experience. People buy into the experience more,” he pointed out.

The party experience kicks off inside the National Stadium on Tuesday at 5 p.m, with music from selector ‘Boom Boom’ and the immortal Stone Love sound.

“You can expect customised Reggae Boyz dubplates songs from Beenie Man, Kimani Marley, Stylo G, Jamal, Pinchers, Eric Donaldson and many others,” Dixon disclosed.

“So we want people to come out and enjoy the party before the win over Trinidad.”

He revealed that the fun will not stop there, as there will also be an entertainment package at half time and an after party to celebrate what is expected to be a victory.

“The happier the people, the more they will motivate the team to win and enjoy the game and the more they will come back to another game. We want them to feel like they are going to a party.

“There will also be a marching band inside the stadium. We will also have free 360 (degrees photo), where the girls can do free 360 pictures in their jerseys,” he noted.

For the Reggae Boyz’s away games, One Umbrella has been organising Jamaicans living in Bermuda, Trinidad and Curacoa into one group, to offer the players the loudest possible support for these matches

“I have confirmed what it will happen in Bermuda on the fifth (today) and now I am trying to negotiate for Curacoa.

“The Jamaicans in Bermuda helped to organise the Jamaica-Bermuda Association and they contacted us from there. So we are definitely going to have a cheering team there,” he said.

He also praised the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) for being open-minded and allowing them to play their part in contributing to the sport and national teams.

“We have been working with Avery Campbell, the marketing rep. The JFF will work with people with ideas to make football better.

“We have suggested things that can elevate football and they have given us the tools. So whatever you try to do to help the football they will work with you. I want to give respect to the president Mr (Michael) Ricketts and the (acting) general secretary Mr (Roy) Simpson and Ms Campbell and the (JFF) ambassador Tanya Lee.

“We don’t want people to say they are just going to a football game anymore, they are going to an event where they can enjoy themselves in more ways than one,” Dixon added.
