Despite a nervy start from Oblique Seville, all three Jamaicans secured their passage to the semifinals of the men’s 100 metres.

Kishane Thompson, Akeem Blake and Seville will all line up in the next round set for tomorrow at 6:45 a.m. Jamaica time

Seville had to dig deep to advance to the next round as he was left in the blocks.

He was able to recover just enough to snag the final automatic spot in third with a time of 9.93 seconds as South Africa’s Gift Leotlela took the heat in a personal best of 9.87.

Kishane Thompson, however, made light work in his heat as he stormed to victory in 9.95, leaving a lot in the tank.

Blake, lining up against defending champion Noah Lyles, secured passage to the next round, placing second in 10.07.

Lyles took the win, running from the back, in 9.95.
