Hylton’s professional debut about realising a dream
THE BOXING Connection is heralding the professional debut of Daniel Hylton, a boxer the organisation characterises as “one of Jamaica’s most promising boxing talents”.
Hylton will make his first appearance in the pro ranks against Damar ‘Force’ Haslam on December 13 at the Constant Spring Football Field as part of the highly anticipated Wray and Nephew Fight Night.
“I’ve put in the work. I knew what I wanted to do ever since i was 10. I’m the future lightweight champion of the world,” said Hylton.
A product of Kingston’s famed Stanley Couch Boxing Gym, Hylton’s story is one of resilience and ambition. Transitioning from humble beginnings to competing on international stages, Hylton has proudly represented Jamaica at the IBA Men’s World Championship in Uzbekistan, the Central American and Caribbean Games in El Salvador, and at the Commonwealth Games. His impressive amateur career includes 29 bouts and five silver medals at Caribbean regional championships.
Coached by Sakima Mullings and inspired by his young daughter, Hylton’s mission is to build a better life for his family, win a world title, and uplift his community.
“Turning professional is about creating a future for my daughter and inspiring Jamaica’s youth,” said Hylton.
