Campion score biggest win of round

CAMPION COLLEGE’S under-19 team scored the biggest win in Tuesday’s round of the Urban ISSA Basketball Competition after dismantling Yallahs High 118-29.

Campion dominated all four quarters with scores of 14-10, 34-8, 36-4, and 34-7. Ryeem Martell led the way for the winners with an impressive 34 points.

In two other under-19 matches, Ardenne and Bridgeport High were victorious. Ardenne dominated Kingston College 69-34, with Mohan Bonnick starring for the winners, scoring 27 points, 24 rebounds, 23 blocks, and 15 assists.

In a very close encounter, Bridgeport held off Vauxhall 26-24.

In under-16 action, St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) and Kingston College (KC) came out on top. STATHS blew away Camperdown High 93-11, while KC scored a close 59-53 win over Ardenne.

There was also action in the ISSA rural competition on Tuesday, with York Castle leading the way among the under-19s, turning back Ocho Rios 66-49. Christian Anderson top-scored for the winners with 36 points, while Chadrick McFarlane led Ocho Rios with 23.

In the other under-19 game of the day, Munro College, with 17 points from Keneil Moodie, stopped Christiana High 33-26.

Munro followed up their win among the under-16s, getting by Christiana 33-27.
