ISSA basketball: Camperdown, Campion Ardenne score big wins
CAMPERDOWN HIGH, Campion College and Ardenne High all went over the century mark as they scored big wins over their rivals on Thursday in the ISSA urban senior schoolboys under-19 basketball competition.
The eastern Kingston-based Camperdown came away with the biggest win as they whipped Bridgeport High 123-18. Heri Leconte was their top man, scoring 33 points while pulling down 27 rebounds. He was assisted by Jaquan Rennie and Kemani Halliday who added 30 points each.
Led by Ryeem Martell with 31 points and Zachary Lawrence with 21, Campion continued their good run in the league with a commanding 113-20 win over Vauxhall High.
Ardenne became the third team to score over 100 points on the day after trouncing Yallahs High 112-28. Mohan Bonnick, with 39 points and 25 rebounds, was the top performer for his team.
In the other under-19 game, Kingston College, led by Nezim Subratie with 24 points, secured a 48-30 win over St Andrew Technical High School.
Campion had the biggest win among the under-16 teams after a 75-29 victory over Vauxhall while St Andrew Technical got by Kingston College 67-57.
