Medley Mixers and Legend will face each other in today’s Pocket Rocket Foundation Peace Through Sports Six-A-Side football competition.

The teams cemented their place in the finals after exciting semi-finals last Sunday at the Red Stripe Sports Complex on Spanish Town Road. The final is set for the same venue.

In the opening encounter, Medley Mixers edged Zessa 1-0 in a tightly contested battle that was decided from the penalty spot in the closing minutes of the game. The team is also advancing to the final for the second consecutive year. Atapharoy Bygrave calmly converted, sending the Medley Mixers into celebration and booking their return to the final.

In the second semi-final, Pals and Legend fought to a 0-0 stalemate at the end of regulation time, forcing 10 minutes of extra time as both teams searched desperately for a breakthrough. With neither side able to find the net, the match went to penalties. Legend held their composure when it mattered most, prevailing in the shootout to punch their ticket to the championship match.

Now, all roads lead back to the Red Stripe Sports Complex at 3 p.m., where fans will be treated to a thrilling double-header. Pals and Zessa will battle for third place before Legend and Medley Mixers clash for championship honours in what promises to be a fitting climax to this year’s staging.

More than $1 million in cash and prizes will be on the line, along with championship glory, as the foundation crowns its newest champions.

The 2026 staging of the competition has been made possible through the support of title sponsor Tank-Weld Group, through its Rymax Lubricants brand, alongside Nike, GraceKennedy, 876 Spring Water, Gatorade, FESGAS, and Sanmerna Paper Products Limited.

Founder and chairwoman of the Pocket Rocket Foundation Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce says the level of competition continues to reflect the heart of the initiative.

“This tournament is about creating opportunity and giving young men a platform to compete with pride. The semi-finals showed just how much this means to the players and their communities. As we head into the final, I encourage everyone to come out and support. The energy, the passion, and the sportsmanship on display truly capture what Peace Through Sports is all about.”

Now in its 11th staging, the Pocket Rocket Foundation’s Six-A-Side competition has grown into one of the community’s most anticipated sporting fixtures, combining high-quality football with a strong message of peace and togetherness. The final promises drama and intensity. With no entry fee, supporters are encouraged to come early and be part of what is expected to be an electric close to this year’s staging.
