Champs 2026 | JC’s Nathan-Neil Heirs wins long jump gold in dramatic finish

Jamaica College’s (JC) Nathan-Neil Heirs snatched the gold medal in the boys Class Three long jump final in dramatic fashion as he jumped a winning mark of 6.37 metres in his final jump at the National Stadium earlier today.
Heirs clinched the title away from Kingston College’s (KC) Joel Patrickson, 6.11, who settled for the silver medal, with Titchfield’s Romario Franklyn taking bronze in 5.99.
Heirs had a steady series of jumps but came into the final round sitting second with a then-best mark of 6.00 in his second attempt.
With the gold medal on the line, and Patrickson already completed his series, Heirs eclipsed the leading mark with 6.37 and took the title in his first year of high school.
The result also bears a significant impact for JC, who are hoping to snatch the Mortimer Geddes trophy from fierce rivals KC.
