Shaw hat-trick keeps Reggae Girlz perfect

While it wasn’t the traditional schellacking of a Caribbean neighbour, Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz have remained perfect in the Concacaf W Qualifiers, beating Antigua and Barbuda 4-0.
The Reggae Girlz were led by Khadija Shaw, who scored a hat-trick, opening her account in the 45th+1, before going on a rampage early in the second half, grabbing the remaining two in the 49th and 59th minutes.
Deneisha Blackwood converted Jamaica’s second penalty, scoring in the 90th+1. Shaw’s opening goal also came from the penalty spot.
The Reggae Girlz were winning their third game of Group B on the trot, scoring 23 goals without conceding to lead it with nine points.
The victory means Jamaica will only need a draw to top the group against Guyana (six points) when the teams meet on April 18 inside the National Stadium.
Nicaragua, who are tied second in the group with Guyana, have to beat Dominica by a slew of goals and hope the Reggae Girlz lose to have any chance.
