Foster hails coaches after 100m win at FISU Games

JAMAICA’S Rasheed Foster captured the men’s 100 metres title in a championship record 10.14 seconds at the Fourth International University Americas Games (FISU) in Lima, Peru, yesterday.

Foster exploded from the blocks and led from start to finish to secure an emphatic victory ahead of Chile’s Benjamin Aravena and Juan Pablo Nordetti, who both clocked 10.37 to take the silver and bronze medals, respectively. Jamaica’s Deandre Daley finished fourth in 10.38.

A delighted Foster said he was grateful for the victory and thanked everyone who played a role in his success.

“Winning the FISU Americas Championship and breaking the meet record is an incredible feeling. It is a moment that reminds me that hard work, faith, determination, and perseverance truly pay off. I am deeply grateful to have achieved this milestone, and I give God all the glory for making it possible.

I also want to sincerely thank my agent Errol Walters and my coaches Jody Muschette and Reynaldo coach Walcott for believing in me, guiding me, and helping me reach this goal.
