Wall Street Trader to slam rivals in Jones Memorial

WALL STREET TRADER’S August 6 run, uncha-racteristically among the backmarkers while SUPREMASI made all the running at seven and a half furlongs, was a contrast to his July 25 effort when leading IMJUSTAGIRL into the lane before BOSS MAN blasted past both speedsters.

MOJITO and NEO STAR, established middle-distance pacers, are at risk of being run off their legs should WALL STREET TRADER report at his best.

MOJITO’s glass chin was exposed by a pacer, SUPREMASI, whereas two-turn specialist NEO STAR comes in at 123lb, nine pounds heavier than WALL STREET TRADER.

Trainer Rowan Mathie has called in claiming rider Nicardo Carr to partner WALL STREET TRADER at 114lb, almost level with MOJITO at 115lb, giving the speedster a weight advantage in his backyard.

WALL STREET TRADER last won in February, beating OIL MACHINE and DON KWESI at six and a half furlongs, an overnight-allowance victory which lifted the seven-year-old back into open-allowance company, first finishing third at seven furlongs behind FUNCAANDUN, the previous year’s Mouttet Mile winner.

WALL STREET TRADER’s last run was simply too bad to be true, at a distance he had not attempted in nine previous outings, signs pointing to a reversal of form at six furlongs.
