Tridents bolster batting unit with Deol

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC):
The Barbados Tridents Women have strengthened their squad with the addition of Indian batter Harleen Deol for the remainder of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League.
The 28-year-old has played 28 T20 Internationals, scoring 311 runs in 20 innings at a strike rate of 92.01. Her most recent international appearance came against Australia in March this year.
At the franchise level, Deol has represented Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League, scoring 649 runs in 28 matches at a strike rate of 115.68.
She adds further depth and international experience to a Tridents side that already includes Kiran Navgire and Pooja Vastrakar.
The Tridents have played just one match so far in this year’s tournament, suffering a 21-run defeat to the Trinbago Knight Riders in their opening fixture on September 5.
Deol is the fifth Indian player signed for this year’s WCPL, joining Navgire, Vastrakar, Shikha Pandey and Yastika Bhatia.
