The Reggae Boyz returned to winning ways in the 2026 Concacaf Nations League, defeating 10-man El Salvador 2-0 in their League A Group B clash at the Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador Friday night.
Javon East opened the scoring in the 39th minute before completing his brace in the 64th minute.
The match began at a lively pace, with both teams creating opportunities before El Salvador were reduced to 10 men when Rudy Clavel was shown a straight red card in the 20th minute for a late challenge on East.
With the numerical advantage, Jamaica found the breakthrough when Miguel Freckleton's ball into the box was pounced on by East, who poked home from close range.
Jamaica continued to control proceedings after the break and doubled their lead just past the hour mark, with East grabbing his second goal of the contest.
Second-half substitute Jahmarie Nolan won possession inside the box and played in East, who fired a first-time finish into the roof of the net.
The victory moves Jamaica into second place in the group on six points, one behind leaders Suriname on seven.
Jamaica will close out the group stage against Honduras at the Chelato Uclés National Stadium on Monday.
