Yendi Phillipps, Miss Jamaica World 2007, will be entering this year's Miss Jamaica Universe competition.
Based on Invyte Productions', the competitions' new organisers, Facebook page, Philipps is one of the 25 finalists for 2010.
Philipps is joining other illustrious beauties who have double-dipped by entering both Miss Jamaica World and Miss Jamaica Universe, two of the most popular beauty contests in the country.
Sandra Foster was the first to double-dip and come up the winner in both competitions. She won Miss Jamaica Universe in 1989 and Miss Jamaica World in 1991.
Christine Straw was the last to win the jackpot. She was Miss Jamaica World 1998 and Miss Jamaica Universe 2004.
However, neither went on to win either international title.
There are other women who have entered both but have only won one. Ayisha Richards won the Miss Jamaica World title in 2000 but came up unsuccessful two years later in the 2002 Miss Jamaica Universe pageant .
Carolyn Yapp, before snagging the current Miss Jamaica Universe title, entered both competitions. She entered Miss Jamaica World in 2004, Miss Jamaica Universe in 2005 but was unable to snag the top spot at the time.
Jamaica has actually never won The Miss Universe title; can Phillipps win locally and internationally?
In the international pageant in Sanya, China she was in the top 15 contestants. She also placed second in the beach-beauty section of the pageant.
Philipps, known for her vivacious personality, became more known to Jamaicans when she hosted the talent competition, Digicel Rising Stars.
