4. The scams are getting more daring as one recent scam saw one businessman being left several hundreds of thousands of dollars the poorer, after making what he thought was a down payment on an apartment. Problem is, the person to whom he made the payment was not the owner or an authorised agent.

5. Some say it must be something in the water out west that is causing so many marriages to go bust. Now that the pretty one has moved out of the matrimonial home, friends are questioning if the 'evidence' was planted to engineer the outcome.

6. Seems like the effects of the recession are being felt more sharply in Kingston than anywhere else on the island. So, one of the new recession beaters is that more and more of the supposedly well-to-do are now moving out of the city and back to their rural roots, where keeping up with the Joneses is no longer an issue, as those who return to their rural roots have now become the Joneses.

7. Some decent, law-abiding and patriotic Jamaicans say they don't get it! The 'it' being those who are opposing the limited state of emergency. They say it's the only thing which has brought about a decrease in murders and other violent crimes, so they are confused when they hear others who they think of as equally law-abiding and patriotic calling for its suspension or termination.
