H View-BT final

HARBOUR VIEW and Boys' Town will contest tomorrow's final of the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Claro Champions Cup competition, after winning their respective semi-final encounters at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex yesterday.
In the feature contest, second-half goals from Dean Thompson (48th), Michael Thompson (62nd), Marvin Morgan (78th) and Mark Newsome (90th) carried Boys' Town to a 4-1 win over Cavalier. Kemel Mullings (87th) scored for Cavalier.
The opening matchup was not the prettiest of games but, in the end, Harbour View bounced out defending champions Waterhouse, after two goalkeeping errors helped them to a 2-1 win.
Second-half strikes from substitute Andre Fagan in the 56th minute and Ranique Muir in the 82nd cancelled out Vincent Earle's 32nd-minute opener, in what was an encounter devoid of the expected fireworks that a clash between two of the island's top clubs promised.
Wasted effort
Prior to Earle's rare spark, the major points of summary included a shot from the top of the box from Harbour View's Marcelino Blackburn, which went wide; and Rafeik Thomas could not make up his mind whether to control the ball or volley after being played behind the Waterhouse defensive line, and did neither.
Earle gave Waterhouse the lead by heading into an empty net after goalkeeper Michaud Barrett failed to make contact with a cross after leaving his line, and was caught in no-man's-land.
Waterhouse could have, and should have, doubled their lead in the 43rd minute, but Andre Clennon - who was rather wasteful throughout the contest - and Earle both failed to make the most of the opportunity, the latter putting his strike off the bar from inside the six-yard box.
The second half was not much better, but for Harbour View's double strike.
Messam flung himself to his left to make a save off a shot from Rafeik Thomas, but could only push the ball straight on to the right boot of Fagan, who scored after being on the field for just a few minutes.
Muir stole the win within the last 10 minutes, after Messam again flopped at a looping header from Dicoy Williams, the former having little more to do than tap the ball into the net.
