What an Experience!

You would have had to be blind not to see the neon sign proclaiming the 4G wireless Internet experience that leading telecoms provider Digicel had in store at its launch held at Hope Gardens, St Andrew, Saturday, August 21.

'The Experience' was a party with the essential elements of an ideal location, appropriate and exciting decor, good music and entertainment, superb bar service, adequate spaces for ease of movement and the right mix of interesting guests and excellent food.

And speaking of food, ace caterer Lorraine Fung laid out a spread spanning some 200 menu items from Tex-Mex, Japanese, Italian, Mediteranean, Oriental, Jamaican, Indian and German cuisines.

So, if the decor played down the signature red and green of the hosts, the company's staff left no doubt as to where they belonged. Men sported red or red and white stripe ties and women were exquisitely garbed in red cocktail or maxi dresses. Their shoes were all fabulous too!

With the cocktail hour out of the way, head honcho Mark Linehan introduced the latest initiative using large-screen television monitors and one giant-size screen to visually enhance his presentation. It left no one in doubt as to the capabilities of the new 4G wireless Internet service that would be immediately available to all customers at competitive prices.

The conclusion: Digicel's new 4G technology promises a much wider scope of possibilities and far better ways of researching, conducting business and even improved growth to a country's gross domestic product.

Formalities dispensed with, the entertainment included links with California in the United States of America and Junction, St Elizabeth. Live on the Hope Gardens stage were siblings Tami Chynn and Tessanne Chin, And the party did not stop till 2 a.m.
