Tons of fun for Restaurant Week

So what happens when the 'bigger, better network' and the island's oldest newspaper get together? It's usually tons of fun!
And that's exactly what happened as Digicel Business executives hosted The Gleaner's Lifestyle team and friends at the elegant Sabor House restaurant at the Spanish Court Hotel on Tuesday. The venue is usually a great spot, so toss in happy people (and it coming during the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week) and it was always going to be fab!
There were 'Jamaica time' arrivals, but that's the guests' prerogative (they wanted to look their snazzy best). It was well worth the wait. The last thing anyone wants are long speeches and there weren't any, although everyone had to introduce themselves. Some eye-popping confessions only helped to make things even more exciting. The exclusive dining area was filled with soft background music, lovingly intermingled with laughter and the tinkling of glasses, as guests toasted the occasion and hope for the fast-approaching Christmas season.
But the star of the show was chef Richie Richards, who served up an unforgettable feast. Like a maestro at the end of the recital, he got warm applause from the diners for a truly 'tasteful' performance. And since you're going to fete people at one of the Corporate Area's finest restaurants, they simply cannot leave empty-handed. Bottles of Hardy's wine (the official potable for Restaurant Week) were in every goodie bag.
Guests out included Daryl and Ann-Marie Vaz, Ayesha Creary, Trisha Thompson, Camille Bent-Jarrett and Hanif Bryan. Representing Digicel: Kerry-Ann Robinson, Belinda Williams, Misha Haye, Dominic Azan, Philip Palmer, Deane Shepherd, author Robert Lalah, Sara Lawrence, Kerry Christian, Tesi Johnson, Yahneake Sterling and Yvonne Myrie.
