JFF congratulates league champions

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has extended congratulations to the Tivoli Gardens Football Club and Sporting Central Academy, for being crowned 2010-11 Digicel Premier League and JFF/Premier League Club's Association (PLCA) Under-21 champions, respectively.

"Achieving the status of champions is always a result of dedicated and focused teamwork on and off the field, and the JFF applauds what was consistent effort by the management, technical staff and players of both teams," it said in a media release.

The release added: "President of the JFF (Captain Horace Burrell), who is presently attending the CONCACAF Congress, expresses his own 'personal congratulations to the leadership of both clubs for this achievement and for the competitive and exciting climax to the season in both leagues'.

"I would also like to congratulate the Professional Football Association of Jamaica (PFAJ), the PLCA and all the subcommittees who worked to provide a successful season."

The release further noted: "The Federation commits to intensify its support to the premier domestic league, and to work with all involved to further improve the quality of the competition with specific reference to facilities; the economic viability of clubs; the creation of opportunities for players, and building the fan and spectator base of the clubs."
