Kreativ Decorations' grand milestone

Scores of family members and friends came out to the Belisario Suite at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel on Tuesday, to celebrate a milestone. The man of the moment, Dennis Nugent. It was the fifth anniversary of the company he formed on a leap of faith, Kreativ Decorations.

Now a very accomplished set designer and decorator, images of past events flashed across the jumbo screen at the front of the room for all to see his work speak for itself.

Very humbled by all the accolades laid upon him during that night, he told The Gleaner that he never saw this day coming. He admitted that five years ago he couldn't buy a pair of shoes. Now he can give his children anything they need. Back then, with only two rolls of material, he took any job he could get, sometimes it was one a week. But he worked hard and this was evident in the kudos of well-wishers who described him as a man who puts the 'P' in professionalism and whose satisfied clients came back and brought others on board. "Every time I did a job, the ideas just kept coming, and I began thinking, I can make it," he told The Gleaner as he reflected on his journey. Now he believes, "Anything I want, I can achieve it."
