Warmington on JLP ticket for next elections
CONTROVERSIAL JAMAICA Labour Party (JLP) Member of Parliament (MP) Everald Warmington seems set to be back on the party's ticket for the next general election, despite his private and public run-ins with the leadership of the party.
JLP General Secretary Aundré Franklin on Thursday disclosed that two candidates were under review, but he was quick to dismiss speculation that Warmington was one of them.
Warmington has bucked the party on several occasions and is believed to be one of those persons inside the JLP who prompted the decision by Prime Minister Bruce Golding to call it quits.
The outspoken South West St Catherine MP is also awaiting the release of the findings of the Office of the Contractor General (OCG) which probed the awarding of government contracts to a firm he has an interest in.
The OCG has hinted that all is not well and has sent its findings to the police commissioner and the director of public prosecutions.
