WESTERN BUREAU:A Port Maria, St Mary, resident, who allegedly tried to rob a woman while employed as a hotel maintenance worker in Montego Bay, had his bail conditions altered on Tuesday.

Twenty-eight-year-old Dexter Henry, currently of Long Bay in St James, pleaded not guilty to assault with intent to rob Rosalind Simmonds when he appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on July 24.

The details of the allegations were not read out in court at that time.

When Henry's matter was mentioned in court on Tuesday, his attorney, Nicole Allen, asked for an alteration to the conditions of his $100,000 bail, under which he had been ordered to report at the Barrett Town Police Station.

The lawyer explained that Henry had recently got employment in Mandeville, Manchester, and consequently, his current reporting conditions would be difficult to fulfil.

Resident Magistrate Vivienne Harris subsequently changed Henry's bail conditions to allow him to report at the Mandeville Police Station on Thursdays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, the court was informed that Simmonds was not present and efforts were still ongoing to contact her to attend court.

The matter was set for mention on October 2.
