Clever clues to dining out

We all have that restaurant that speaks to our taste buds and we know what makes us food happy. There are, however, personalities that fit into restaurant type. Which one are you?

The JCF (Jamaica Comfort Food) patron

The JCF person is simply patriotic and loves all things Jamaican, especially when it boils down to the food. It's all about tasting traditional Jamaican spices and ingredients and a JCF restaurant is where you'll find your friend without fail. Nothing is more comforting or rewarding than eating a meal that brings back childhood memories.

Where to take them for Restaurant Week (RW)

You would think this one is easy since this is Jamaica, after all. But just like no two mothers are the same, no two JCF restaurants are the same. So if your friend is into sweet and spicy dishes and you're into grilled and spice, make sure you look for a restaurant that can cater to both of your needs rather than a specific JCF restaurant.

The AAA - ambience + atmosphere appreciator

It's almost as though this friend wants everything but the food. They want the ambience, the atmosphere and my, gosh do they really appreciate it. It's almost as if they could eat the restaurant itself rather than the food offered inside the restaurant. These types will sit and take in the scenery for almost half an hour: the aromas, the sounds, the people and the 'vibes' that comes with the restaurant before they touch anything on their plates. But don't get it confused, this friend isn't a food prude, they enjoy their food but the setting is what they'll pay for and quite happily too.

Where to take them for RW?

You really have to do your homework on this one and you really have to understand your friend to make this one work. It's no good taking them somewhere noisy and full of yapping people if they're more so a quiet type who likes the climate to feel tranquil and relaxed. So take time to get to really know your friend and take them out accordingly.
