Avoid Holmwood repeat - crack down on busmen
THE EDITOR, Sir:
My heart goes out to the families of the victims of another Holmwood crash, and to the students and staff of the school who have to go through this grieving all over again!
There was tragedy in 2007, 2011, and now 2013. My first reaction was, "Holmwood again?!" Is something wrong with the school, the road or the mad drivers who seem to lose their senses once they get behind a steering wheel?
I do not want to judge these poor children, but I have witnessed many careless acts involving bus drivers and schoolchildren, with loud music blaring. Sometimes it's the students who egg on the drivers to race, seemingly oblivious to the dangers!
Why don't the police vigorously patrol this particular route given the deadly trend that exists? Where were the transport authorities? How many more lives must be lost before drastic action is taken?
My prayers continue to be with the injured, the grieving families, and the school family. May God give you strength.
