Heart-warming charity from Tyre Warehouse
THE EDITOR, SIr:
On February 18, 2014) I watched 'Live @ Seven' on CVM TV as the host, Simon Crosskill, discussed rural challenges for the disabled. The in-studio guest was Pearnel Charles, and on the telephone was Sandrea Long-White, assistant managing director of Community-Based Rehabilitation Jamaica.
As Mrs Long-White highlighted the challenges being faced by the disabled population in rural Jamaica, I had no choice but to feel depressed. But there was hope.
As the conversation continued, she informed the host that her association had planned to visit some disabled persons in St Elizabeth during the course of this week. However, when they checked the sole van they had to take them around, it was noticed that all four tyres needed to be changed.
She said she sent an email to Tyre Warehouse, in which she outlined the need. To my joy and satisfaction, Tyre Warehouse sent them four new tyres.
I want to say congratulations to Tyre Warehouse, to Mrs Long-White, and to the many Jamaicans at home and overseas who continue to do good to this very beautiful nation without noising it abroad.
