After several years in the music industry, St Ann, based artistes, singer/musician Bassie Dee and DJ Avalanche have laid the groundwork for their respective careers to take off during 2014.

Bass player and vocalist Dayal Cadien, using the stage name Bassie Dee, has steadily increased his portfolio over the years and while not a well-known name on the airways, has built up a growing fan base on the Internet.

His latest track, Work to Do, on a reworked Cool Operator rhythm (Delroy Wilson's 1970s classic) is included on the compilation CD, Operator 2013 Rhythm Velocity, produced by Fitzroy Francis' Mightyful13 Records.

The CD also includes tracks by Little Hero and Andrew Bees.

Work to Do follows closely on Bassie Dee's previously released track, We Need More Love which features Nigerian hip-hop artiste Ovis Tee and the 2012 hit, I'm Pushing On, which topped the Global Linkz Radio's new artiste top-10 chart.

That chart topper was a follow-up to another hot, I've Got Love for You Baby, which had reached number two on the same chart, while spending 11 weeks in the top five.

"As the songs says, I'm pushing on, trying to make a way in the music industry as a vocalist," Bassie Dee told Entertainment Avenue.

As a musician, Bassie Dee has played for years on Jamaica's North Coast and has produced several other reggae artistes over the years.

Three years ago, he decided to broaden his horizons and concentrate more on vocals, and this has been drawing a lot of attention internationally.

Meanwhile, Avalanche (real name Eron Brown) has been experiencing positive feedback from his debut album, Truth, since it was made available on iTunes late in 2013.

"I'm very confident that this album will do extremely well," Avalanche told Entertainment Avenue.

"We put a lot of work into it and we are hoping for the best."

The 13-track album features several collaborations with artistes such as Teflon, Lamp Fya, G-Money, I-Star, Fire I Stick and Champaine.

Avalanche and his album have received press attention internationally with a feature in the Canada-based Spliff Magazine.

In an article written by Eileen Wenekers, Spliff Magazine describes Avalanche as "a Jamaican artiste creating music to spread the reggae message of love, respect and blessed love to the world".

Avalanche describes himself as an artiste with humble beginnings, but with majestic ambitions for his future, as he is a true believer in the powers of His Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I.

The album comes at a time when Avalanche continues to gain popularity through his postings of several videos on YouTube, including Hustling, Morning Ride and Fire.

Tracks on Truth include the collaborations All the Time featuring Lamp Fya, Nine to Five featuring G Money, Rainbow featuring Teflon, Sunshine featuring I Star, Wrong Plan, featuring Fire I Stick, and Zion featuring Champaine.

Other tracks include Pretty Girl, Fire, Africa, Number One Girl, Fake Friend and Alicea Alicea.
