Kantana hopes to make 2014 mark - Goes on tour with Beenie Man

Dancehall artiste Kantana has been riding the waves of success since signing with Beenie Man's record label, MD Entertainment. Under the guidance of 'The Doctor', Kantana is eyeing 2014 with optimism.

The artiste said though his fans are craving more songs from him, he has to be strategic in how and when he releases each one.

With thoughts of further establishing himself as a serious artiste, the entertainer hopes that his latest single, Head A Bunx will open the doors to a strong solo career.

He described the song, produced by Irie FM's Big A, as a catchy dance tune that has everyone's heads bopping as instructed.

Inspiration for the single

"Mi observe say every time people hear a tune weh dem like, dem head start bounce, so that's how the concept came along," he said.

Kantana said while he has a lot of material to release, he will strategically pace his career.

"You affi give a song time for it to soak in. We have a lot of material, but you can't use tune and kill tune, so right now the focus is on Head A Bunx."

According to Kantana, the single has been getting rave reviews across the globe.

"The video was done by RawTid TV in Skateland Half-Way Tree and just like the song, the video will make people feel good and get them moving."

Kantana said Beenie Man, who makes a cameo appearance in the video, has been instrumental in his development.

"Beenie Man feel good bout it. Him head just a 'bunx'. Even Shelly Belly the dancer a gi it crazy endorsement in the streets," said Kantana.

The Head A Bunx singer is on a three-month tour with his mentor Beenie Man and expressed confidence in his ability to make his mark in the industry.

"The anticipation is high and I am ready for the world," he said.
