Kingston College came from behind to beat Mona High 2-1 and capture their 10th ISSA Walker Cup knockout title at Stadium East on Friday.
Mona took the lead in the 15th minute through Skylar McFarlane, but KC responded strongly in the second half.
Rasheed Payne brought KC level in the 60th minute with a free kick that struck the underside of the crossbar before crossing the goal line. Captain Kamaul Patterson then completed the comeback in the 75th minute, lifting the ball over Mona’s goalkeeper to secure the victory.
The triumph ended KC’s nine-year wait for the Walker Cup title and marked an impressive start for first-year head coach Jermaine Miller, who was recently promoted from the school’s under-16 programme to lead the senior team.
KC will now turn their attention back to the Manning Cup competition.
