Reggae Sumfest, marketed as the Caribbean’s premier music festival, has secured a title sponsor for its 2026 iteration, Magnum Tonic Wine, in a move that is being hailed as one which reinforces the brand’s longstanding role as a committed stakeholder championing dancehall.
Over the years, Magnum has become synonymous with high-energy experiences at Reggae Sumfest that extend beyond the main stage. From the Magnum Street Dance to the Global Sound Clash, the brand has created platforms that celebrate the essence of dancehall, its lyrical diversity, competitive spirit, and deep connection to the people.
“We are thrilled to welcome Magnum Tonic Wine as the title sponsor of Reggae Sumfest. This partnership unites two of Jamaica’s most recognisable and influential brands, both deeply rooted in our culture and entertainment landscape. We expect our collaboration to deliver an even bigger and better festival experience and further position Reggae Sumfest as the Caribbean’s premier music festival with global appeal,” said Dealo Gordon, sponsorship manager at DownSound Entertainment.
This year’s staging, dubbed, ‘A Taste of Reggae Sumfest’, will culminate in a highly anticipated moment for the genre, as two of dancehall’s more influential figures, Vybz Kartel and Mavado are set to headline the show. The moment represents a powerful shift from rivalry to legacy and reflects the kind of cultural milestone that continues to define dancehall’s global influence.
With this title sponsorship, Magnum now takes centrestage in an even more deliberate way, positioning itself not just as a supporter of the culture, but as a key force driving its evolution.
Pavel Smith, marketing manager of J Wray & Nephew Limited, emphasised that Magnum’s role within that narrative is both strategic and deeply rooted in purpose.
“As a company, we recognise dancehall as one of Jamaica’s most valuable cultural assets. Dancehall continues to influence music, fashion, and identity across the world. Through Magnum Tonic Wine, we have consistently invested in the space because we understand its power, its reach, and its authenticity,” Smith shared.
The recent international launch of the festival in Miami, Florida, marked a significant milestone, highlighting DownSound Entertainment’s 10th year at the helm of Reggae Sumfest, a track record which Smith said is both noteworthy and aligns with Magnum’s vision to expand Jamaica’s global footprint. The momentum continues locally with the official launch set for Wednesday, June 10, further building anticipation ahead of the July staging.
Smith said, “Our return as title sponsor of Reggae Sumfest is a natural progression of that commitment. We are pleased to partner with DownSound Entertainment. They have demonstrated for more than a decade, a clear ability to grow and protect the festival while elevating its international appeal. We are especially pleased to partner with a team that understands the culture at its core and continues to execute at a world-class level.”
As the Caribbean’s premier music festival, Reggae Sumfest has long been a showcase of the island’s musical excellence. Magnum’s title sponsorship further strengthens the platform, ensuring that dancehall remains bold, front and centre, and unapologetically Jamaican, while continuing to resonate with audiences across the diaspora and beyond.
“Magnum is proud to stand as a true champion of dancehall, supporting the culture in a way that is meaningful, sustained, and impactful,” Smith expressed.
On Saturday, July 18, all roads lead to Plantation Cove in St. Ann, where Magnum Reggae Sumfest, ‘A Taste of Reggae Sumfest’, will unfold with a high-energy line-up of dancehall heavyweights and emerging acts. Designed as a one-night, high-impact experience, the event is set to deliver the kind of performances, moments, and crowd connection that have made the festival a cornerstone of Jamaica’s entertainment calendar.
